Apple Festival Traffic and Vehicle Access

To help protect residents and visitors during Apple Festival, the Bayfield Police Department will use heavy equipment and traffic barricades to restrict vehicle access in downtown areas with heavy pedestrian traffic. There is no known threat specific to Apple Festival; these are proactive safety measures for a large public gathering.

Traffic and Access Schedule

  • Overall restrictions: Friday, October 2 at 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, October 4 at approximately 5:15 p.m.
  • Peak-hour closure: 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. All streets and alleyways within the vendor area will be closed to vehicles.
  • Authorized off-peak access: 5:30 p.m.–9:30 a.m.

During off-peak hours, access is limited to approved vehicles needed by downtown residents and tenants, business owners and employees, and festival vendors. All other vehicles require approval from the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau or the Bayfield Police Department.

Authorized Vehicle Entry Points

  • Rittenhouse Avenue at Third Street
  • Manypenny Avenue at South Broad Street
  • South First Street at Manypenny Avenue
  • North First Street at Rittenhouse Avenue

Please move slowly through the barricades and use extreme caution within the vendor area. Whenever possible, complete vehicle-related activities before the festival or schedule them during off-peak hours.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
