Dark Sky, Star Bright Event

Bayfield’s winter has always carried a quiet kind of magic — the kind that shows up when the lake is still, the nights are long, and the stars truly take center stage. Dark Sky, Star Bright was created to celebrate exactly that.

From January 15–24, 2027, we invite you to slow down, look up, and experience winter on Lake Superior in a new way. Over ten days, Bayfield will once again host a collection of night-sky inspired programs, creative workshops, wellness experiences, and opportunities to gather under some of the clearest skies in Wisconsin.

This isn’t a packed festival or a one-day rush. It’s intentionally paced — giving you space to choose your own rhythm. Spend an evening learning about the constellations, capture the stars through your camera lens, or simply step outside and let the quiet of winter do the rest.

We’re proud to once again partner with Friends of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore to help share the science, stories, and wonder of the dark skies above Lake Superior.
