Say "Mush" to a Dog Sledding Adventure

Dog sledding offers a unique and exhilarating winter experience for outdoor enthusiasts. No experience is necessary to take part in this one-of-a-kind adventure. Bayfield County offers breathtaking landscapes of snow-covered forests, rolling hills, and frozen lakes, making it the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dog sledding trip. Local guides provide tours that cater to all skill levels, allowing you to learn about the sport, bond with the dogs, and immerse yourself in the region’s winter beauty. It's an ideal winter getaway for families, couples, or anyone looking to embrace the magic of the season along the South Shore of Lake Superior.

Grab the gangline and be the musher of your sled with Wolfsong Adventures in Mushing. Choose from morning and afternoon trips from December - March. Every trip involves meeting the Siberian Huskies, feeding and watering the dogs, harnessing and hooking up the dogs, and learning how to drive the sled.

If you want to watch experienced mushers from across the country race, head to Iron River in February for the Northern Pines Sled Dog Race organized by the Iron River Chamber of Commerce. The weekend events feature sprint, mid-distance, and weight pulling and kids fun-run events. Basket raffles, vendors, food specials, and snowshoeing are all part of this exciting day of dog sledding.
