Festival of Arts and Gallery Tour
September 10-11, 2022 • Memorial Park
About Festival of Arts:
The Chequamegon Bay is a special place for artists. Some choose to live here surrounded by the peace and beauty of the Northwoods, others visit seeking inspiration from the natural wonders of the Apostle Islands sea caves and Lake Superior. The community celebrates this unique connection to the arts during the annual Bayfield Festival of Arts weekend. Events include fine art vendors and local gallery tours and demonstrations.
This juried fine arts show is held in Memorial Park on the scenic shores of Lake Superior in downtown Bayfield. Visitors will find a unique selection of pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpture, glass works, wood carvings, photography and more. Take special notice of the blue “Best in Show” ribbons, which are awarded to artists in five categories, while browsing.
The Festival of the Arts is kicking off a new event in 2022 called Art Escape! This 9-day celebration of all things art in Bayfield County and Madeline Island will allow area artists to showcase their work through classes, open houses or demonstrations.
Guests are invited to experience art in the making during the Festival of Arts Gallery Tour on Saturday and Sunday. Local galleries and working studios will welcome visitors throughout the weekend with open houses, demonstrations, and special sales as part of this tour. Watch local artists perform wheel-thrown pottery techniques and witness silver smithing, painting and quilting demonstrations.
In celebration of Lake Superior!
Bayfield Festival of Arts will highlight the artists who are inspired by the Big Lake. Those artists will be given a badge that says “Lake Superior Inspired” to display on their booth and will also be mentioned in the festival directory.
The Bayfield Festival of Arts is a Travel Green Wisconsin certified event.
