Free Things To Do

The best memories are made free of charge. Here’s some ways to explore that won’t cost you anything except a good time.

  • Bayfield Maritime Museum - The Bayfield Maritime Museum preserves, interprets and presents artifacts portraying the nautical history of Bayfield and Apostle Islands in Lake Superior. Admission to the museum is free, but you can always give a donation.

  • Take a Hike - there are a number of hiking trails right in the heart of Bayfield including the Big Ravine Trail and the Brownstone Trail which have access right in downtown Bayfield.

  • Hit the Beach - Explore miles of sand beaches across the Bayfield Peninsula. Reiten Beach is just two blocks from downtown Bayfield. Friendly Valley Beach offers vast views of the Chequamegon Bay and the islands.

  • Join us for an event in Bayfield - All of our events are free and open to the public. We hold several events throughout the year including our annual Festival of the Arts and Apple Festival. See our events page for more information.
