🛶 Discover the Apostle Islands

Bayfield is your Gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and there are a number of ways to get on the water and to the islands. Take the Apostle Islands Cruise grand tour or the lighthouse tour. Get up close to the sea caves at Devil's Island on the Apostle Islands Kayak Express. Paddle through the spectacular sea caves from Meyer's Beach with a guided kayak tour. Or charter a boat and create your own adventure around the islands.

☀️ Experience the Red Cliff Pow Wow

Celebrate culture and tradition at the 47th Annual Red Cliff Pow Wow, hosted by the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. This powerful gathering kicks off on July 4 and runs through Sunday, July 6. Don’t miss the Grand Entries—Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.—plus delicious food and handcrafted goods from local vendors starting at 6:00 p.m. Friday.

🎸 Dockside Jams with the Whitecaps

Let loose with live music by the Whitecaps at Hoops Dockside Fish from 6:00–9:00 p.m. It’s the perfect combo: rock, classic hits, and danceable covers paired with locally caught whitefish—served blackened or deep-fried.

Cap off the day with a fireworks show that lights up the night over Lake Superior. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and find your perfect viewing spot at Memorial Park, East Dock Park, or the Bayfield City Dock. On clear nights, you might even catch a glimpse of Madeline Island’s fireworks across the water. It’s the perfect end to a day filled with summer magic.
