Driving

If you are coming from the west, Bayfield is a 1 hr. 45 min. (85-mile) scenic drive from Duluth, Minnesota. We recommend taking the Wisconsin Lake Superior Scenic Byway (State Highway 13) along the lakeshore.

Bayfield marinas have transient boat slips suited for single-day or multi-day visitors.

Airports

Duluth International Airport is just under a two hours' drive away from Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. Car rentals are available directly at the airport. Duluth offers direct flights from Minneapolis and Chicago daily, so you’re only one easy stop away from most any destination. Consider also the daily shuttle buses available between Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and Duluth International Airport.
