The results for the Pie Baking Contest on Thursday are as follows:

Home Baked All-American Apple Pie:

  • 1st Place - Candy Shireman
  • 2nd Place - Terri Miller

Home baked Creative Pie:

  • 1st Place - Lucas Deperry
  • 2nd Place - Marge Mabry

Commercial Pie:

  • 1st Place - Beth Kasinski of Erickson's Orchard and Country Store
  • 2nd Place - Beverly Ellestad of The Candy Shoppe

Apple Dessert:

  • 1st Place - Shirley Burroughs
  • 2nd Place - Danielle Ewalt

Children's Dessert:

  • 1st Place - Anders Geisen with his "Apple Surprise"
  • 2nd Place - Lucia Danberg with her Animal Caramel Apples

The Apple peeling contest took place on Saturday afternoon with a record 19 participants! With the record holder - a surgeon - being absent this year, it was anyone's chance to win! The results were as follows:

Adults:

  • 1st Place - Mark Hevria with 189"
  • 2nd Place - Allison Enge with 131.5"
  • 3rd Place - Craig Henrick with 121.5"

Children:

  • 1st Place - Allison Herreid with 78"
  • 2nd Place - Kim Schaetzl with 34"
  • 3rd Place - Justin Miller with 20"

The parade was another success this year with 56 units participating including 10 high school marching bands. Each year local community members judge for three different categories. The 2007 results are as follows:

Orchards:

  • 1st Place - Erickson's Orchard and Country Store
  • 2nd Place - Weber Orchard
  • 3rd Place - Hauser's Superior View Farm

Organization:

  • 1st Place - Douglas County/Superior Chamber of Commerce
  • 2nd Place - Chequamegon Bay Soccer Champs
  • 3rd Place - Friends of the Bayfield Recreation Center

Judges Choice

  • Hills Angels Non-precision Dis-organized Scooters
The Hills Angels has decided to donate their parade winnings of $100.00 to CORE Community Resources - a locol non-profit organization.

The winners for the Apple Dumpling Gang:
