We are interested in photos of people having fun, Bayfield businesses and attractions, or activities that capture the essence of Bayfield. 46th annual Bayfield Apple Festival October 5, 6 & 7 If you’ve never been to a Bayfield Apple Festival, you’ve missed one of the top ten fall festivals in the country! Given that honor by the North America Travel Writers Association, that’s why over 60,000 folks travel to Bayfield to take part in Applefest, always the first full weekend in October. Orchard owners, artists, musicians, street entertainers, crafters and festival food vendors line the streets of Bayfield for this annual event. You’ll find apples in abundance…caramel apples, apple pies, apple tortes, apple dumplings or tarts, sundaes, ciders, bratwurst—it’s all in Bayfield. And if you want to test your skills, there is the apple peeling contest and the apple pie and dessert contest. If you would rather sample than bake, that’s not a problem because the entries are up for grabs following the pie and dessert contest. There is something for all ages at this top ranked family festival including the best of Big Top Chautauqua on stage with the Blue Canvas Orchestra, a carnival and games for kids, a lighted boat parade, a grand day parade featuring the one and only 400 member "Mass Band" playing "On Wisconsin" over 150 arts & crafts booths. This fall you’ll find Bayfield all dressed up in perfect fall fashion. We’re celebrating the 3rd annual Bayfield Scarecrow Festival & Orchard Tours September 15 through October 31, 2007. Bayfield's fall is warm with spectacular colors, providing for a longer fall color tour.
