Environmental Policy Statement:

 

The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce is committed to continuously improve our operations in order to reduce our environmental impact.  In doing so, we have set goals and are taking specific actions towards environmental, social and economic sustainability.  The areas we are addressing are:

  1. Communication & Education of Customers, Employees & Public – by educating individuals on ways we are working to improve our environmental impact.
  2. Waste Reduction, Reuse and Recycling – by minimizing the amount of waste that goes into landfills & incinerators which helps minimize the amount of greenhouse gases released.
  3. Energy Efficiency, Conservation and Management – by integrating energy efficiency practices into our office operations which also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  4. Water Conservation and Wastewater Management – by conserving water by reducing consumption and monitoring the quality of water we put back into the environment.
  5. Air Quality – by improving air quality indoor as well as outdoor by minimizing air pollutants.
  6. Purchasing – by purchasing green and environmentally preferable items which includes locally produced products and services from locally owned businesses.
  7. Community Benefits – by actively contributing to the economic well being of the local community without adversely affecting other aspects of local peoples’ lives.
