Bayfield Anticipates a Fine Weekend of Arts on Lake Superior

48th annual Bayfield Festival of Arts set for July 31st and August 1st

Over 95 artists from throughout the Midwest will gather on Saturday, July 31st from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday, August 1st from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at Bayfield’s 48th annual Festival of Arts. This juried arts & crafts show is held in Memorial Park on the scenic shores of Lake Superior in downtown Bayfield. Visitors will find a unique selection of pottery, painting, jewelry, sculpture, glass works, wood carvings, photography and more. Enjoy live music performances by festival artists and indulge in festival food while viewing stunning artwork by the lake. Take special notice of the blue "Best in Show" ribbons which are awarded to artists in five categories while browsing.

Bayfield Festival of ArtsExperience art in the making during the Festival of Arts Gallery Tour on Saturday, July 31st, and Sunday, August 1st. Bayfield artists will welcome visitors to their studios and galleries throughout the weekend, with open houses, demonstrations, and special sales as part of a gallery tour held in conjunction with the festival in the park. Visitors can watch local artists perform wheel-thrown pottery techniques, and witness silver smithing, painting and weaving demonstrations.

Chequamegon Bay Arts CouncilParticipate in a live art auction on Friday, July 30th, during the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council's 2010 fundraising event, from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Bayfield Lakeside Pavilion. Enjoy drinks, appetizers and music while previewing original art items reflecting this year's theme "Being Green." The auction preview and silent auction will take place from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, followed by the live art auction beginning at 7:00 pm. This is CBAC’s most important fundraising event, directly supporting grant opportunities that enrich the arts in the Chequamegon Bay region.
