Two more Bayfield businesses awarded Travel Green certification Ethel's at 250 and Bayfield Books/What Goes 'Round join in local 'Green' efforts
Continuing to strive to be the 'Greenest' community in Wisconsin, Bayfield is proud to announce two more local businesses are Travel Green certified. The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau would like to acknowledge Ethel's at 250 and Bayfield Books/What Goes 'Round for recognizing the importance of maintaining sustainable business practices. "We are proud to join the growing list of Travel Green certified businesses in Bayfield," say owners Bill and Sally Heytens. "Protecting the environment and conserving our resources are key to maintaining the charm and sustainability of our community." Ethel's at 250 recently installed a new Energy Star low temperature/water usage dish machine that will save both water and energy during the busy summer season. The restaurant, which features pasta and pizza, is open Tuesday through Sunday at 4:30 pm. Wine and beer are available, and it's a great place for families or groups to share a meal. What Goes ‘Round has been offering a hand-picked selection of used and new books in Bayfield since 1991. It's owners, Anne Rumsey and Nathan Meyer are proud to have earned Travel Green certification in recognition of practices that help build sustainable communities. They are continually seeking new ways to strengthen a healthy and green Bayfield, from printing business cards in soy-based inks on recycled paper to brewing locally-roasted coffee. At What Goes ‘Round, a visitor will find the best of old and new - from a hand-colored plate from an 1898 atlas to a fresh copy of Aldo Leopold’s classic ‘Sand County Almanac’. Open year-round, and daily mid-May through October, visitors are invited to enjoy it's peaceful cobblestone courtyard and a leisurely browse through wonderful books.
The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau is working hard to increase the number of Travel Green certified businesses in the Bayfield area.
